Wanted Wednesday: Pyrex Strawberry Mixing Bowls

Wanted Wednesday:
 Pyrex Strawberry Mixing Bowls

I was searching ended listings on eBay (because I have nothing better to do, even though the laundry is piled up, dusting needs to be done, bathroom needs to be cleaned...) & came across this listing for a set of 2. The listing was ended early, so I can only assume someone offered a price & the seller accepted. Wonder what it was?  Obviously, I could be wrong. Naturally, I took to Google & found the image above. Tried to find the source to link to it, but I wasn't successful, so... Google Search by Image Results it is!

Have you seen this set before? Own it? Would you buy it? I think it's cute, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, especially because it'd probably go for an arm & a leg online. If I found it at a thrift or at an antique market, I'd bring it home.

According to the listing, this set is unmarked.

Wanted Wednesday & New T-Shirt!

WANTED WEDNESDAY!

So I'm start this new collection & there is this brochure on eBay that seems is pretty rare, shipping to USA only. Anybody want to let me have it shipped to their house & ship it to me? Hope so! New collection - enable me!

It's no big deal if ya can't,  some people are busy.

Here is my new vintage tee. Ain't it grand? Once I toss a few pounds, it'll be my new antiquing shirt. Just hope people don't get the wrong idea & think I do mean ASS. I can see how they would,  but yeah, I like it!

Wanted Wednesday: Voodoo Charm Sticks

Wanted Wednesday!

Have you ever heard of "Voodoo" Charm Sticks? I hadn't until a few years ago when I bought Al Hoff's "Thrift Score" book off Amazon. I'd heard of the zine yeaaaaars ago & the book was published awhile ago, but it's still a good read today! It tells you to check out the yellow pages for thrift stores - remember those?

Anyways, enough about the book! What brings me here today are the Voodoo Charm Sticks. I periodically look them up on eBay & Etsy, never found them. A search in Google "voodoo charm sticks" reveals one result, an idea in the book stolen from Thrift Score! What are the odds that something seemingly as rare as Voodoo Charm Sticks would be in one book, found in a thrift store in the toy section... & appear later, in a novel where the characters find them in the toy section? How did I get back on the book?

If anybody spots these, please get them for me! I'll make it worth your while, trust me (or if you have them for sale, what ya want for them?). ;)

Wanted Wednesday: Tales From The Crypt

hi!

I've had some free time lately without a computer (but now I'm using my BF's computer, which is an ACER piece of garbage), so I managed to actually do something with the stuff that lurks inside my home.

The frames are snap lock & are from Germany - found them in the trash a couple years ago. They had Tom of Finland sketches in them (repros, I assume)... I just flipped 'em over & put the $10ish shipped set of postcards on top. Have to get the man of the house to drill them into the concrete wall, or whatever he's gonna do to get them up there.

Can you believe these shoes only cost $39.99 (in Canada) at the most expensive place that sells skate clothing? I have a hard enough time finding my size of shoe on regular price shoes (everyone seems to be my size) & never, ever have I found my size of shoe priced at last pair price in a shop. So surprised!

on to...
WANTED WEDNESDAY!

I was searching eBay, bored outta my mind at work, these are hilarious pop culture vending machine prism stickers - I'd love to ad them to my collection!!

Wanted Wednesday: Popsies

Wanted Wednesday:
Popsies

photo from popsie lot on eBay - $1,250.00

Yeah, I know. It's Tuesday. In 23 minutes it's Wednesday. I'm at home, I'm sick. It's a cold or flu or something. I'm not sure, but it's not pretty. I'm working through it. I'm bored & I might not be home tomorrow despite this cold or flu or something, but I wanted to post these because I'm loving them. I don't think I will even own all of them (possibly I hear, 175 of them as some phrases differ on the popups of the same figures), but maybe a couple eBay buys. They are 3D greeting cards from the 1960's by Pride Creations.

Wanted Wednesday: Pyrex Passion

Wanted Wednesday:
Pyrex Passion
The Comprehensive Guide to
Decorated Vintage PYREX!

How many of you lucky guys already own this? I am very selective with the books I buy, books aren't on the top of my collection list, but once in awhile a book is lucky enough to find it's way onto my shelves. If the book wouldn't set me back just under $70 with shipping, I'd probably already own it. Now, I sit back & wait until it's either gifted or I somehow get lucky with my thrift store saying, "you just never know...".

Anyways, how is the book?
If you wanna buy it for me or for yourself, you can buy it here:

BTW... I have an excellent piece of Pyrex to showcase for Rednesday - new in the box!

Wanted Wednesday: Gay Monopoly

Wanted Wednesday

I'm getting a little ahead of myself, since it's only Tuesday night.. but.. whatevs! Have you ever heard of Gay Monopoly? I first read about it in Al Hoff's book "Thrift Score", made in 1983 by the Parker Sisters (a division of Fire Island Games, Inc.).. who they say were sued by Parker Brothers. Anyways, according to Hoff, some pretty wacky things go on! These can sell for up to $200 on eBay (still in cello wrapping). This would be a great game to play at a Pride party or just a group of friends at home drinking.

So, have you ever play Gay Monopoly?

Wanted Wednesday: Sweater Girls of 1952

Wanted Wednesday

Update on my doggy, if you're curious:
Charlie (he's an American Staff mix, if you're curious) had to go get his ear drained for a second time. It's currently full of blood & should be drained. I was getting very angry with the vet. We were trying to work out getting him surgery after it filled up for a third time (almost immediately after he got home from getting it drained the second time). Like good daddies, we wanted to get him surgery ASAP. We were told to call after 4. We waited. They told us we were supposed to call before 3:30, the person we were supposed to talk to is gone. I was supposed to go in, someone called us to come pick up his meds. They said no one called & they don't have any in stock. ???. The next day, when they told us to call back, the surgeon wasn't in, so now they couldn't get a quote for the surgery (why they couldn't do it before... IDK since we were just waiting to speak to the manager to see if they did a payment plan). Anyways, they wouldn't do a payment plan. They gave us this basically "legal loanshark" that will loan you money for your animals surgery. We applied, but then they called wanted pay stubs, but we couldn't get them for a couple days.. so I just called to get my credit limit increased on my Visa, my interest limit isn't very high & wouldn't be as high as those legal loansharks. I call to make the surgery appointment, since we now have the funds. They tell me, 11 days. OMG. I could have booked this shit forever ago. 11 days & my dogs ear is ready to explode. They quoted me $280 to get it drained (but according to my BF it was $90 the second time), so I got feisty on the phone. Am I supposed to pay possibly 2/3 of the cost of the surgery to drain the ear? Anyways, we drop him off for his $800 surgery tomorrow at 9:20PM. We're dreading leaving him there overnight. We are hoping he doesn't get the feeling we are abandoning him. The last time he spent the night in a cage, he was in a Humane Society with death on his doorstep. I pick him up Friday after 5PM. I'm going to leave him there a little longer since the medication tends to last a long time on him.
As for his hotspots, they are clearing up. He will be on steroids for the rest of his life. The vet said that she doesn't like putting animals on steroids, but he needs it. This will also hopefully help his ear since his ear infections are so frequent.

Thanks for listening. I haven't done a WANTED WEDNESDAY in weeks. It's time to get back to business.

so sad i missed this auction!

Wanted Wednesday

Wanted Wednesday

Isn't this retro rolling skating poster absolutely fantastic? I have friends who roller derby, I sent her the link, but doesn't look like she bid. I'd love to put it up in my house, too.
Where I grew up, we were lucky enough to have a roller rink called Wheels. I remember roller skating to Nirvana, Alice in Chains & other popular grunge & late '80s music. I was pretty decent.

You can buy it here.

This set of E.T. keychains WILL be mine, well, unless someone buys the 10+ lots that the seller has before I buy them in mid May. 6 keychains for $7. Wish I lived in the states.. FREE shipping.. like $8 to Canada. POO!

you can buy them here

Another item that's outta my price range, but that's too good not to buy when I win the lotto... & FYI - I've got tickets for tonight's $30,000,000 649 Jackpot (for you Americans, that's quite large for that particular Canadian lotto) or finding at a second hand shop!

Wanted Wednesday: Monkey Shines

Wanted Wednesday
Monkey Shines T-Shirt

Monkey Shines is a horror movie released in 1988. It's about it man who becomes a quadriplegic & gets a helper monkey who starts acting out his violent desires. I haven't seen the movie in years, but I was obsessed with it when I was younger. There was a video store near our grocery store where you could rent 5 of the older movies for $5 Monday through Thursday for 5 days. This, along with Howard the Duck & April Fools used to be some of my regulars. The movie poster also embodies one of my all time favourite toys - the Jolly Chimp! I have 3, all complete with boxes.

Anyways, I recently came across this shirt online. If they all weren't nearly $200 & size SMALL, I would buy one. Until then...

it's on etsy.

>

When I watched this movie as an adult, I couldn't believe how silly it was, either way, I wouldn't be able to pass the shirt up if it came up at the right price & in the right size.

If you've never seen/heard of Monkey Shines, here's the trailer!
