WTF? Wednesday.

I don't know about you, but I'm not in need of another one of these. How much? Priceless.
(bringing it back old school, haven't done this since October last year it seems)

Some more finds.

Have picked up some stuff over the past few weeks that I have yet to post about.. some found photo albums, full of photos (each $1.99), a pair of pants (not pictured.. forced to get them for work :p), 3 records at 99cents each, A Serial Mom laser disc & a magazine I have been looking for (but wouldn't buy off eBay) for 15 years! The December 1992 issue of Spin Magazine with my favorite singer, Courtney Love, along with Kurt Cobain & Frances Bean. Pants & albums at Value Village, the rest at Goodwill. With the pants it's $33.99!

D.U.M.E. spells certain doom!

DUME Candle here on WTF? Wednesdays!

Here you have an original DUME candle from 1977 made by The Candle Corporation of America. Ever wanted to "open the doors to hell"? Bring your enemies problems, bad luck, sickness, poverty, failure, enemies & death? Than this is the candle for you! DUME candles can still be purchased today, but finding an original DUME candle from the '70s, unburned, is a pretty rare find. Death Unto My Enemies. Through searches about DUME candles on Google they come with grave warnings - only use this candle as a last resort! You write the name of your enemy on the candle in the space provided, burn to the name & blow out the candle. Concentrate on the incantation. Repeat the following ceremony for the following name. Would you ever use one?

I bought this awhile ago, but after I started keeping track of the total of my purchases. This candle cost $2.25.

WTF? Wednesday.

Why in the world did these make it onto the floor? Who would really pay $2.99 (plus taxes!! since this is Value Village) for a bunch of pop tabs? Yeah, you can donate them so kids can get wheel chairs & stuff, but wouldn't the $3 cash do a hell of a lot more than 106 pop tabs? If they were at Goodwill it would be somewhat of a different story, as they are non-profit, unlike Value Village..

WTF? Wednesday.

I haven't done a WTF? WEDNESDAY in quite some time. Here is one. He was in Goodwill. I don't know why someone would take the time to knit that & I can't even find someone to knit me a pair of brown pants. On one hand though.. this probably didn't take much yarn, with my booty, I'd probably take up 6 full sheep.

In the above poster, I already had touched a bunch of stuff that was resting on that plunger. Now I suppose this is another thing you won't catch me buying at the thrifts! True, the plunger could be new, but I reckon it's not! & you really can't tell if a plunger is used or not..

The "Worlds Greatest Grandpa" statue (along with the other 1,000,000's of "Worlds Greatest" statues) kinda depress me since odds are the grandpa who owned it has now passed own having it dumped at the thrifts. Hopefully the memory can live on & someone picks it up to give it to their grandpa! I kinda liked the boot, too, but not my style, would never have it in my home.

Back from the Falls!

Niagara Falls!

Welcome home! Thank you! Unfortunately, we didn`t stay at the Happiness Inn. The secluded pool & the open serene are quite big selling points.. but you know, the Hilton is much cozier & probably cleaner. Note one thing about the Hilton in Niagara Falls - they didn`t have cable!! Since when can the Hiltons not afford cable? I should have been on the phone with Paris the minute I found out, but, we did have better things to do, I suppose. The place was nice though. Had a large water slide in the pool (only open after 5PM!), beautiful view of the American Falls
& the everso misty Horseshoe Falls, minutes away from the Casino & Clifton Hill.

So, it rained the whole time we were there. My boyfriend & I ended up paying $7 flat rate to get us to the Value Village there, which ended up being a 20 minute walk from the Hotel. We know that for next time though. Below you`ll see my first purchase - a beautiful Federal bowl for $4.99. I just love the pattern, don`t you? I knew it. They had a lot of Fire King cookware, but I don`t use anything along those lines & have limited space in my condo. But bask in the glory of the Federal bowl for a minute or two. Bowl has slight discoloration inside, very slight.

I haven`t found a setting on my camera yet to take great, clear photos yet, so the markings on the bowl & the copyrights on the magnets below I can`t include photos of. The magnets however, were 99cents for all 3. They are copyrighted 1978 in Hong Kong. I deem them very unique. The wife says I`m not allowed to put them on the fridge since I won`t allow his tacky Hersey Kiss & Bahamas magnets up - his loss.

For some reason I have seen an increase in taxidermied animals. Have not seen one once & saw a crocodile last week & this guy in The Falls. The wife tells me he is a wart hog. I guess this will be my first installment of WTF? WEDNESDAYS. This poor little guy was going for $7.99.

I`d like to thank National Post for making this wonderful Niagara Falls. If you are not aware, in December I won $2,500 in Via Rail gift cards. They have also made 3 trips home to Windsor possible for me too.
