Sir Thrift-A-Lot: Flea Market Finds

Some vintage finds this week, all below. The highlight being the set of vintage Spanish shot glasses - which I believe are similar to the English set & say 'NAME YOUR POISON' with the prescription symbol including Arsenico, Cianuro & Estricnina. You're welcome to a drink. I'm not sure if this is the full set of these or not, but I have two of each. They were 4 for $1.49 & 49cents for each thereafter. $4.99 for the Pyrex divided dish. $3.99 for the vintage yellow 503 Pyrex refrigerator dish, sans lid & a nice pack of NOS elephant cocktail invitations - which are available for sale in my ETSY SHOP.

Joining FLEA MARKET FINDS

There was a lot of thrifting this past week, but minimal finds. I had my first Sunday off in FOREVER, so I was able to visit the Sunday Antique Market at St. Lawerence Market here in Toronto. There were some interesting items, but the only thing I left with were these deer sale & pepper shakers. One of the sellers insisted that they were donkeys. I bet he would have sworn his life on it.


A great gift from my bestie, picked up from Cambridge - two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles notebooks, never used, from 1989. Pretty neat find from Value Village. Also from Value Village I got these Treasure Troll gift bags for 99cents for the lot.

I finally listed a few items in my etsy shop - just two Super Mario Brothers birthday cards from 1989, quite rare. It's been months since I wanted to list things. I have a few more items, but me & natural light never seem to be in the right place at the same time.

Is $20 too much for a Pyrex bowl?



Recently I came across two pieces of the Friendship pattern - 441, 443 & at the antique market I saw the 444 in fantastic condition. I've only seen the 444 once before in a thrift & it was in terrible, terrible condition. Do you think $20 is too much to help complete the set?

Awesome "Flea Market" Finds!

It's Sunday, so once again it's time to join HER LIBRARY ADVENTURES for FLEA MARKET FINDS!

Also joining up with APRON THRIFT GIRL for Thrift Share Monday!

I felt I had some great luck this week, even though I visited a ton of thrift stores & only had a few finds, but had loads of fun along the way!

First up is a set of high ball glasses featuring a burlesque/pin up stripper hanging off a stripper pole. I haven't been able to find anything online on these & had doubts that these were vintage, even though I had some input from a woman in the store walking buy telling me they were "neat" & "from the '50s". I'm not sure what I am going to do with them, have what seems to be 100's of glasses.



A vintage Strauss Canadian Time made in Japan clock! Got this from Value Village. The clock was $9.99, not bad, it's very neat & there is one currently on eBay for nearly $100. There was an expired C battery in the battery compartment upon purchase & when I finally bought some batteries today, the lock wasn't working. Does anyone know a thing or two about clocks?



Also from the same trip, destined for my Etsy shop, this pretty neat tea towel which says, "Thank God for dirty dishes they have a story to tell while others still go hungry we are eating very well." By Irish Linen.


A vintage ice bucket? I have previously bought two of these. I am using one as an ashtray for guests on my balcony & one on my kitchen sink for sponges. This one I picked up & it had a little utensil to pick up ice. This was either put in there by someone or this is actually a vintage ice bucket. I have no clue. It wouldn't hold that much ice... $2.99. Value Village.

Here is a fun, reto fun - a 1980's Ronald McDonald stuffed toy in a bag of toys from Value Village for $1.99. I might have had something like this growing up...

A couple finds from recent times, all fun! Down below is my new Popples sheet for my vintage & retro flat sheet collection. It's Popples "We'd rather be leaping than sleeping!" 1985 flat sheet by Those Characters from Cleveland INC. First time I've seen anything Popples in the thrifts! Goodwill, $3.99.


A Spring Blossom bowl that was picked up over a month ago by my friend Agnes for me in Cambridge, a #402 Spring Blossom mixing bowl in fantastic condition. Thanks yet again Agnes! Value Village, $4.99.


I love this stationery. I'll never use it though, so it's off to the Etsy shop. It's by Hallmark & just so uplifting. I'd love to be sent a letter via snail main on this stationery. Goodwill.

Thrift Sharing!

I'm sooo late to the party, but joining up with APRON THRIFT GIRL for her THRIFT SHARE MONDAY!


This past weekend I had went to Windsor for my cousins wedding, it was a nice fall themed wedding & it was great to see some of my family again. The rest of of the weekend was pretty crappy! Actually, really crappy. I won't go into to much detail, but one of the crappy things is I missed out on the curiosity shop! They are now not open on Sundays!

Below I got the neat little retro cat lanterns for a $1.99 each. The second last time I went to Windsor I had gotten a similar style owl lantern. I'm liking the cat ones better. Also down below is this beautiful vintage, made in Japan tray. Isn't awesome? This is something that will end up in the Sir Thrift-A-Lot Etsy Shop which will have it's grand opening soon! I got my new credit card yesterday.


It's a bit hard to score Fire King mugs in the shops up here, but I scored this one yesterday at Goodwill for 99cents. Also pictured is a Pyrex Sunflower Divided Casserole dish, very cheery! $5.99 at Value Village in Windsor, such great condition! The same trip as the owl, this is the piece I missed out on for $12 because the Curiosity Shop closed at 5PM on Sunday & I arrived slightly before 5 or something.

& these little vintage elves/pixies hanging off mushrooms, $1.51 each from Goodwill. These guys were made right here in Toronto.

OWL: 1982 Enesco Japan

Another beautiful item destined for the future Sir Thrift-A-Lot Etsy shop, which was recently found at Value Village when I took my trip to Cambridge. If you have never heard of Enesco, have you heard of Precious Moments? That's what Enesco company is best known for.
