Some new additions...

Got a New Kids On The Block shirt from Goodwill. This was a one off. They have a poor selection of clothing that I never check out. They had a fantastic Pyrex bowl that I picked up & I was waiting for them to wheel out the next load of stuff to see if they were going to bring out any more Pyrex, so I picked through the racks. Lucky for me it paid off with this NKOTB "Please Don't Go" t-shirt. A steal at a $1.99. 1989.



At Value Village I picked up some WWF glasses of Hulk Hogan. I passed on the other wrestler - not a WWF fan, just love the cheesiness of Hulk Hogan. 49cents a piece. 1988.


At another Value Village I managed to find this Hollie Hobbie & Robby pillow case for 99cents. Made by American Greetings Corporation in 1977. Also from VV, a Hollie Hobbie, still sealed, one time use tablecloth.


I've got some excellent Pyrex coming my way on Thursday - going to pick it up! Got 4 pieces, $5.75 each. One of everyone's favourites - Butterprint & another - a fridgie. You'll be seeing those soon... Stay tuned!

Wicked Wednesday Finds!

Had some thrilling finds today, my favourite being the New Kids On The Block curtains from Big Step Productions, 1990. Was wondering around the shop, a bit saddened that I hadn't found anything, decided to go down the curtain aisle, a place I never check, low & behold - something I've been craving. Moments after I picked them up, a hipster chick turned the corner, her eyes widened, she made somewhat disgusted look on her face, mumbled something & then I walked away. Really wish I heard what she said. I love when my stuff is envied. $5.99 for the set. I'd love to show a photo of them up, but have no curtain rod & we're actually not allowed to have any other curtains other than white in our place.. (haha)



Next we have a The Tragically Hip t-shirt that has a title parody of the classic show - Tales From the Crypt - get it? Tales From the Hip? HAHA. Click the pic of the shirt if you'd like to read it. I'd really like to meet who does their pricing. Why is a shirt with the sleeves cut off - by the old owner - $4.99 & a never worn band t-shirt $1.49? The world will never know. 1994. All vinyls were $1.51 each at Goodwill. If you don't remember the music video for Me So Horny, look it up on Youtube, that video actually got them arrested back in the day.

The deer & the dog came from Value Village. The deer is simple & amazing - a creamy white, with red for a nose, eyes & a tail. I'll be using him for a Christmas decoration. He was $3.99. The dog statue was cute & reminded me slightly of my Charlie, he was 49cents.

Today I'm just sharing a wonderful New Kids On The Block Canadian tour shirt I picked up at Value Village for my T-Shirt Tuesday! It was priced OK at $5.99 as they go for much more online. Their 1989 tour.

Just so you know, I had a dream that I went to Goodwill & found 3 different colours of New Kids on the Block shoelaces - neon green, neon yellow & neon pink. I've got a pair of neon yellow that I've yet to show you, but am still on the lookout for the other pairs.

Lost 25 Pounds!

My Pee Wee Herman t-shirt came in the mail today, along with another surprise! Yippie! So to celebrate the loss of 25 pounds & the addition to my t-shirt & Pee Wee Herman collection I thought I'd post the second picture of myself on my blog, if I can remember the other one didn't include my face, just my beluga body. I haven't posted a photo of myself online in over 4 years, so I consider this one large step. And before you inquire, yes, the glasses were needed inside & I found them! They were free!

So something I've been struggling with for the past few years is my weight. At my heaviest I weighed 255 pounds. I was disgusted with myself. Atop this post you have seen my weight as of 3:07AM on March 4th, 2011. This weekend I'll be eating a bunch of goodies & snacks, but by the 11th, I am hoping to be at 224. We'll see..

This is unfortunately not a thrift store buy, but an eBay buy.. was somewhat expensive, $39.99 USD + $3 shipping, but after some Google research, laughter & some thinking, I decided to use Buy It Now! If you share my sense of humour, you'll find the shirt funny, if you don't, it's OK, I still do. I'm not going to include the cost of this shirt in my total.. since it was an eBay buy! What do you think? This was a splurge & this is my eBay post of shame (we've all been there...).

Shirt Tuesday!

I picked up this cute little number yesterday at the most definitely ghetto Value Village I have ever been to. It's 100% polyester & was made in Poland. The tag was $5.99, cashier made a mistake & couldn't correct it, so it was $5.89, no tax. Not bad. I bought it with Aggie, who just happens to be Polish!

BTW, this is the first picture of me on my blog.. just had to be a breast shot!

Good news on two notes: the models back! & I found a setting on my camera to focus on the tags! Any hooch, this shirt I believe I bought from a shop in Kensington Market called Vintage Depot about 6 years ago. I've seen it a couple times since, once in the same shop a year or two ago & once online. At the time it was quite fitting... if I hadn't eaten too many doughnuts, it would still be fitting. I like it! Can't remember the price though. Shirt is by LSJ Sports Wear, 1986.

T-Shirt Tuesday!

Here is a t-shirt I consider a gem. Not only for nostalgia purposes, but because the shirt was most likely only given out to a select few individuals & it is still in ace condition. I remember going to Sam The Record Man when they had their $3.99 boxing day specials, back before the internet. They selected 4 or 6 new release titles & offered them for $3.99. There were lines 50 people deep & when the doors opened all hell broke lose. My mom worked at the same mall growing up & on boxing day a woman threw another woman through a glass window at the Levi store. How classy. This shirt set me back $2.99 + tax, got it at Value Village. Another memory is of coming to Toronto from Burlington (when I moved up there with my family) & being in absolute awe over the size & the cool selections, always pricey though - even when they had their closing sale at their Yonge Street location. The sign was also quite awesome. I wish it had won to become a historical landmark & would not have been destroyed. Pictures are crappy, models at work & I'm finally started to look on the upside from the cold. Windsor on Friday!

today is t-shirt tuesday. i am without a model, so Google with have to do the trick. the model is kickin' it back in Ohio of all places. bringing home that cherry coke. i can almost taste it. maybe some kix?

This shirt is by Akomplice, picked it up quite used at Value Village a little while ago; never blogged about it though. I think it was $2.99. The wear on the shirt made me think it was older than it is, had thought maybe it was early '90s when skater stuff was neater..

If you don't remember, Kix is a cereal. Quite a neat shirt, if you ask me. Here are some Kix commercials. I hope you get a kick out of them.

p.s. i meant to have the font bigger in this post.. but sometimes i can't get blogger to do what i want. it makes me feel so jennifer aniston. so deal with it. just don't "kick" me when i'm down.

A Little Birdie Told Me It Was T-Shirt Tuesday!

Today we have our lovely model, who is without a bum, modeling a beautiful early '90s EMF shirt. I do not remember where this shirt originated from within my collection, but I do enjoy it's existence, only wearing it a handful of times when my weight agreed with it. It now sits buried in the depths of our closet. It's "Unbelievable", so "Unbelievable".





If you're not familiar with EMF, you can read about them on Wikipedia here. Even if you claim that you don't know who they are, you have definitely heard their hit song. Even if you've spent all your time in the thrifts, you've probably heard the song being played by one of the people who test out the cassette & CD players extremely
LOUD
The bird you see below you came to me via Winners on Front Street, right down the street from my beautiful home. I had seen him there before, looking at me. The second time I seen him I took him home, he was only $2.00. A cheaper buy than he would have been at a thrift store!

Introducing...

T-SHIRT TUESDAY!


Over the last 10 years I have amassed a decent collection of t-shirts from thrift & vintage shops. I am taking Tuesdays to showcase some of these shirts for you. I do not remember many of the prices or which shops I bought them in, but that all doesn't matter. I've had this shirt, which I call "Tiger Bitch" for the last 5 years or so. I've worn it only a handful of times back when I was thin, but now I'm too fat to fit into it, even though it's labeled a large. This is a Screen Stars shirt. The lovely model is my boyfriend, AKA "The Wife", what do you think?
