Thriftasaurus #119

Thriftasaurus #119

Hello! Hope you all had a great week. This week I didn't find too much... I found a huge lot of vintage towels! These aren't them all, just showcasing some patterns. I think maybe 12 to 15 unused towels in all!

I also found a Horizon Blue 024! My second one since November, which I had ended up selling. I am not into 024's.

Also bought this Ronald McDonald glass. No year. Anyone know what decade it's from?

Hope you have a great week hunting! I'm finally on the end of my sickness... so happy! LOL.

Link up if you got some fab finds this week below.

Thriftasaurus #118

Thriftasaurus #118

Greetings fellow thrifters! How was your weekend? Can you believe I am still sick? I can finally feel it start to leave my body, but it's now been over 3 weeks. Seriously!

On that note,  not much thrifting has been going on around here! A couple stops, but not to much coming home. I went out Friday & every dealer was out, dealers of all shapes & sizes, dealers I have never seen before & dealers I had convinced myself were dead because they used to be there every time I went,  but I hadn't seen them in over 3 months. There were 5 (obvious) dealers at just 1 store!

Just showcasing a few things this week...

I bought this hand desk note clip after seeing it for sale online. I missed snagging it, but found it cheaper, shipped, on eBay! I wanted it to clip my dog, Charlies, photo next to my bed. This is also the Valentine he has next to his urn. The Christmas knee hugger that watched over him this season has been packed up & the Valentines Day one is now there!

I bought these 1980s pins off Instagram! Adore!

I also bought this tiny little knife from the thrift in a grab bag. My BF has a knife collection, so I got it for him. This looks like it probably came out of a bubble gum machine in the 80s, lol.

& 36 yards of vintage Chenille bump pipe cleaners... trade anyone?

That's really it! I do have some more stuff to show off on Saturday though!! Hope to see you then for another Thriftasaurus! I now have a new laptop, so I can be more active online. Have been basically using my phone for a yearish... it can get exhausting!

Link up below, can't wait to see your goodies.

Thriftasaurus #117

Thriftasaurus #117!

Welcome to THRIFTASAURUS #117! How are you!?

The thrifts weren't too good to me this week for my own personal collections, all I got was this adorable vintage rainbow stationery set, cute, right? I need my penpals back from the back of Teen Bopper Magazine! I had one if the Netherlands & one somewhere in the Caribbean.

I had a couple requests to see my kneehugger collection,  but it's not all here! Some are relaxing in Michigan at my father's house waiting to come home. Ordered from Instagram & eBay in the last few months. Very neat ones. So when I showcase my collection,  I totally want them in there!

I am still sick (2 weeks now!)... so Christmas isn't fully packed up. That & I have been waiting on going to Target to get some bins to match the one I already own. The one week I want to go to Target (I have been there 4x since they opened in Canada), they announce they are pulling out of Canada. When they opened in Canada & I went into the store, I told my BF they weren't going to last. I love being right. We are going Monday - hope the tubs are still there!  Have heard people say that Target hasn't been so busy, lol.

As promised, here is the last of my Christmas for the year! Loooooove it all!

This is such an amazing addition to a winking Santa mug collection. It's full of (not too interesting) vintage wrapping paper. Also a very cheap set of vintage Xmas cards! LOVE. I took a pic of my fav cards from the box.

A pixie like I had never seen before.

A pixie decoration & a very dirty kneehugger. Check out the before & after. Wonder if that was the reason he was the only one left in the market, priced at $4?

  • This thrifted sugarbowl? Is it a sugarbowl?

I really had no interest in these German candy nodders until I saw them in real life. They were $25 & up, I didn't wanna pay that, lol. I found a good deal on eBay & snatched it up! Later saw this in an antique market for $85. I know it's not worth $85, but, makes me feel good.

Little things.

My new favourite decoration!!

& 2 more kneehuggers - from the 400 Antique Market.

That's it for this edition of Thriftasaurus. Can't wait to see what you've dug up!

Thriftasaurus #116

Thriftasaurus #116

Welcome thrifters, readers & fellow treasure seekers to the first Thriftasaurus of 2015! I know I promised the first Thriftasaurus last weekend, but man, I went snowboarding on Friday & came home Saturday afternoon & was sick as a dog. I couldn't move & could barely drag myself out of bed. As the week went on, I kept getting worse. I felt like I had a fever of 104 (it was normal), it felt like someone took the worlds largest screw driver & screw & forced it down my throat. I'd stop breathing during the night, so wake up every 30mins-45 mins. I don't think I have been sick in about 10 years, so I guess I am lucky. Until the end of this past week, I hadn't stepped into a thrift store for over 2 weeks. Can you believe that? A record.

I had plans for my first Thriftasaurus after Christmas to be my last Christmas finds of 2014, but being so sick, I was basically bed ridden aside from dragging my ass to work, so my Christmas decorations are still up! I'll be packing them up next week, so tune in for the last of my Christmas finds from 2014! There were a few nice ones & some really decent eBay purchases that I absolutely adore!

Well, even though I have a backlog of beautiful finds, here are my finds from just this week!

I found this lovely lady head vase. My first. I forget off the top of my head what brand it is, but of course it's made in Japan. I don't want to peek in my display case right now because my BF is on a cleaning spree & don't wanna tick him off! Starts with a P though!

I also bought some various linens, vintage Christmas apron, these NWT Vera things & some cute tea towels by Zucchi, made in Italy. Unfortunately, my Italian isn't too good, so I can't work my way around the Home Furnishings site. I'd like to see the original price of these tea towels.

A week isn't complete without vintage cards of gift tags! My fav in this lot is the Ole ones, made in England.

I'm not sure about this pink rabbit. A woman in line behind me said it was cool & maybe I was just feeling the high of the lady head vase, but I thought the pink rabbit (candy dish?) would look good with Easter stuff. Not sure though. Anyone wanna trade for something? LOL.

This mid 1980's Transformers candle! I don't think I can live without this now, haha.

I saw this hidden at the thrift store under some t-shirts. Still in the package & items inside still in package. I know vintage Fisher Price is a sought after item. Wasn't too sure, but I bought it anyways. May sell or trade. I had a picnic basket growing up, but not this one. Mine was the green one with the brown lid.

I picked up these cats a long time ago. I posted one on Instagram, but not the other. Aren't they cute?

I did stop at an antique market. I hate the 400 Market, but I stop there. Over priced shit. $57 for a Federal Dots bowl in brown, so damaged it feels like it has a matte finish. Ridiculous! I got this keychain though for $2.50. Looks like it's been there since the '80s, lol.

I can't take a great pic of this, it was sealed & had been squished a little, but it's vintage shelf liner paper. You know the stuff. Such an adorable pattern. Even though it's a little rough, the material allows it to be flattened out because there is no severe damage.

That's it for me! I hope you got some great stuff to show off! I'm having withdrawls. Let me see it. Link up below!

Thriftasaurus #115

Thriftasaurus #115

Greetings everyone! We're almost there, 10 days! I only set up one very large shelf this year, my BF didn't approve. If I had set up everything, wonder if he would have packed up & left, lol? Next year, when things are a little more organized around here, hopefully by next year I've gotten a better paying job & & we've moved into a new, larger unit (2 bedroom? a full room just for me??).

Great treasures picked for me this week & last, lots to share! I'll start with all my vintage Christmas! It isn't a lot, but it's good enough for me.

Knee huggers. I just, I am a man obsessed. These are from an antique market. I left one behind - priced too high for what it was. All these are new to my collection.

All the following are thrift store finds. These guys with hats are made in Japan, as if you couldn't tell! There was one red one there, alone in a bag for $4.99 with a bunch of other garbage, but it was damaged. Too bad, eh? These were all $3.99 with a bunch of other garbage, plus I used my 30% off card.

Also some little made in Japan houses. Cute, right?

I also bought some deer. There is a few other Christmas items, but I forgot to photograph! Next week??

That's all for vintage Christmas! Now on to some others...

I am in the market for some beautiful planters for Spring. I need to find a great plant stand for the balcony, too. I have one other planter that was made in Germany, but that's it so far. I'd love to have more like this. I guess this one is made in Italy.

I want this plant stand. With the money I have been making on reselling, I might resort to eBay too buy it. I recently made thrift store purchases of 3 items that similar category items sell from anywhere from $15 to $500. I have no way to gauge how much mine will sell for as they are not listed. The anticipation is killer because I won't be listing until after the holidays! I may paint the stand with Plasti-Dip so I am able to paint & if I ever decide to sell, I can remove & still maintain the original condition. & you know, wait for a good deal, not paying $100 for it.

I couldn't resist buying these ET puffy stickers... something I have been creeping on eBay every once in awhile & finally showed it's face inside the thrift!

I bought another single orange starburst glass - I now I have set of 6. Love it! These are my favourite glasses I own.

& lastly, this owl was a buck, I have 2 others in different colours & I love them, too. A small ear chip, but something you wouldn't notice on display!

& I got a polka dot Hazel Atlas bowl! This is the 2nd I found this year, 3rd in my collection.  I need that damn turquoise one to complete my set!!

Still so much more to show! But I won't keep you, I know everyone is busy & there is lots to check out below, too!

Thriftasaurus #114.

Thriftasaurus #114!

Greetings everyone! Hope you all are having a great week so far, everything is a whirlwind over here, flying by!!

I've gotten a lot of great stuff, but am unable to take photos (hence the late link up). Was anticipating being able to take photos of everything, but alas, didn't work out! I'm going to rip a few off my Instagram, so I have at least a few to share & I guess double next week!?

Vintage McDonald's socks! They came with a headband, hat & armbands, but they aren't so cool.

Both eBay buys! Great price on these fabulous knee huggers. When I was buying some at the antique market last week, the lady at the counter was asking the BF if I had these & yup, he said I just got them. She also asked about another set, he said yup, he has it! How does he know my kneehugger collection so well!?

Thanks for linking up! Hope holiday decorating is a blast...

Thriftasaurus #113!

Thriftasaurus #113 !

Thanks all who linked up last week & hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving last week had a good one!

I scored a kneehugger from a thrift this week. This happens once a year. This is basically what I expect to find every time I sift through those bags of junk! Last year I found a gold one & the year before, a really small, ugly red one. But yeah, a knee hugger at the thrift is a BIG event for me!

I picked up these NIP Gremlins ornaments. I love them. The plastic packaging really shows its age, so I am contemplating taking them out. Inside the same grab bag, these candles. My question, not that it matters, is - are these Gurley candles? Thanks.

Also in the grab bag with the kneehugger were these deer. That's the first thing that caught my attention.  I almost put them back, but decided to carry them around just incase I decided I wanted them & upon inspection again when I was leaving, I discovered the kneehugger! My thrift high for the week.

I also got some Chippendale cards from 1986! I cannot believe that this was sexy back then. We have come a long, long way ladies & gents!

& this stocking didn't even get to settle after the person who was looking at it previously decided to pass. The look on their face after I snatched it off the shelf - priceless. As they were still standing there looking ahead.

This Lefton Bluebird wall pocket planter or whatever.

Anyways, that's it this week! I had a little find that brightened up my morning - great start to a crappy day! Hope some vintage Christmas entered your lives, too!
