Found 1970's Christmas Photos!

Who loves short shorts? That gnome sure does. I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with older photos - the date on the bottom, is that the development date or is that the date the photo was taken? If it's the photo date, would the camera automatically log the date or something? If it's the photo date, who still has their Christmas decorations up in April? I took mine down earlier this month!

The gnome one is my favourite. Found at Goodwill last week or something.

Fabulous Finds!

I'm quite happy with my recent finds in this post!

You'll see I found some vintage photos, the photos date from the 50's, 60's & 70's. When time permits, I shall scan them for closer enjoyment. One Christmas shot has got a gnome in it. The Hole 'Live Through This' cassette has been on my wishlist for about 3-4 years. I check out the cassette section specifically for it every time I thrift. I knew persistence would pay off, I just didn't think it would take this long. I never mentioned it, but I had bought the CD from Goodwill a few months ago for a buck. I already own about 5 copies, but I hate to see it in a thrift for a buck. Best album ever made. 51cents for the cassette. $3.03 for the photos.

The Anything Book. I had missed this during my trips to Goodwill, as it has been there since February 23rd, paid 99cents. It's blank inside, beautiful pink, soft corduroy. Absolutely beautiful. I love it. I picked up this ceramic shoe yesterday in Vaughan Mills. I'm adding it to my ceramic shoe collection... now have 2! It's a souvenir from Chateau Frontenac, Quebec, Canada. Quite an exciting little piece. Came in a bag with a bunch of other unmentionables for $2.99.


Now onto some buttons. Got the lot for $1.99. New Kids on the Block Christmas button, Alf "No Problem!" button from 1987, & a sexy Hulk Hogan pin from 1985. I had forgotten completely about that sexy piece of meat. Also pictured is a Tag Team "Whoomp! There It Is!" cassette single - 99cents.

SIR THRIFT A LOT - MIA?

I've been MISTA (missing in serious thrifting action) lately, but was also taking a break. After 16 months of wanting to start scanning items, guess who has hooked up his scanner? Yup. Went out today, just to get away & found a photo album with a few photos in it, paid $2.99 for it from Value Village. Photos are from 1963 & are from a birthday party.

Ever growning collections..

Greetings, well, here I am with some more items to ad to my collections. I picked up a copy of the made for TV movie 'Death Of A Cheerleader' (1994), which stars the ever-so beautiful Tori Spelling, on DVD for $2. I am watching it as I type this, it's almost over. I also picked up another hand vase, similar to the one I picked up from Value Village in early September. I felt this was a bargain, since it was only 99cents, although I would have bought it either way. I also picked up quite a nifty, retro Federal bowl from Goodwill too. It's quite stained, as you can see in the pictures, but some magic eraser, soap & water will be doing the trick to bring it back to perfection. The bowl was $3.99. In the first picture you'll get to see a picture of the owl, which I posted about below as well. He was bought today, along with everything else.




Yet another item to add to my ever growing collections - a found photo of a little boy in a room full of funky furniture. You probably can't make it out on the photo I have taken, but the couch is covered in plastic. Found October 4th, 2010 at Value Village.


Total trip: $8.10.

Found Photo // Missing You Like Crazy!

Below you have a found photo, do not remember when & where it was found. I am thinking Goodwill, though.

Now below, here is my puppy. He's gone to the wife's mothers home for the month. We had brought him up for my birthday trip to Niagara Falls & he has yet to come home! I still look for him, I dream about him & I missing squeezing him. He's a big boy, ringing in at 110lbs.

Found Polariod!

Don't remember when this was found, but I do remember it was found with a few other polariods. With the weather warming here in Toronto, I thought a swimming man would be fitting. Happy Easter!

1960's Found Photography.

One of my first "found photos". I always wondered why someone would have kept this photo for so long. There is nothing to it but a couple pairs of legs & you can tell it shouldn't have been taken. Either way, I'm glad they kept it for all these years. I found it some time in 2005. As you can tell the photo was developed in July of 1961.

Photo Booth Photos

All of the food in this picture reminds me of the site, This Is Why Your Fat. The outfit he is wearing is to die for. & speaking of This Is Why Your Fat, I totally think that majority of that food is made to look disgusting to be submitted to that site. But that's just me. A lot of the deserts looks really delish.
