Thriftasaurus #119

Thriftasaurus #119

Hello! Hope you all had a great week. This week I didn't find too much... I found a huge lot of vintage towels! These aren't them all, just showcasing some patterns. I think maybe 12 to 15 unused towels in all!

I also found a Horizon Blue 024! My second one since November, which I had ended up selling. I am not into 024's.

Also bought this Ronald McDonald glass. No year. Anyone know what decade it's from?

Hope you have a great week hunting! I'm finally on the end of my sickness... so happy! LOL.

Link up if you got some fab finds this week below.

Thriftasaurus #104

Thriftasaurus #104

Good evening thrifters... it's a rainy evening here in Toronto, so dishes, blogging & Pepsi for me tonight, a nice, warm bath might follow. We'll see how the night plays out.

I barely got out this week. I have been exhausted. I have been working. I have been just plain lazy. I did pick up a few things though!

These kneehuggers are from the last time I went to the states. They always see to be a sure thing when I go. I really, really want to go around Christmas this year. Americans, are they usually all over the place (in the antique markets?)!?

Anyways, more Christmas. I love how you can find vintage Christmas year round. I bought these, are Holly Days by Corningware one of the only older full sets of Christmas themed dishware?

This is kinda not really something I'd usually buy, butt... I don't know, just picked it up, LOL. Does anyone know when these were popular? Early 1990's? Just recently? Or were they never popular?

More clothes! A The Residents sweater & tee, not bad.

I also got this koala tapestry/wall hanging made in Australia for Joneff & this vintage baby scrapbook.

I will be linking up with:

You know, I'd love to see what you've found! Please link up below & join the party.

Thriftasaurus #102!

Thriftasaurus #102

Good day thrifters! Since I took last weekend off to attend my cousins funeral (again thank you everyone for the condolences, she was only 30 years old.. so it was pretty hard on the family) & I am going to start Thriftasaurus early this week!

My finds are BACKED UP! Trying to get all this stuff in order is hard, especially when I'm always out hunting for more. I'm always saying I'll take a week off, but I am always thinking, "what if I'm out there missing something amazing!?" I'm sure you all understand what I am talking about!!

This is the only piece of Pyrex I got the last time I went to Buffalo, to Antique World Flea Market (which I have to say again - sucked). I've wanted this piece for awhile, it was $10 or something? Dandelion Duet Divided Dish. They had a turquoise 404 for $8 from a flea vendor, but I passed it up since it wasn't *mint*, kinda regret it, but my boyfriend heard some girl yell, "OMG!! I've never seen a bowl that colour before! I'm getting it, I don't care how much it is." So, I bet she's going to treasure it more than I would have.

I also picked up these pins, fifty cents each. I thought they would have been a lot more. Wish I had picked up a few more for my Instashop! The only one that'll end up there is the beer one.

You know, I don't care really if these bowling crying towels are vintage or made in China.. I love 'em. I can always use them as rags, dish towels, face clothes.. it's endless. I think they are kitschy.

I also got these Pyrex Pixies. My first. Probably my last unless they are really cheap. I don't really get the point.

You may remember I got these beautiful, fun vintage glasses a couple weeks ago...

...well, I picked up these 3 glasses that match perfectly! The host & hostess can have the King & Queen & the guests can have the rest! They are even made by the same company, which I still have no idea how to identify.

Happy Hunting!
I'll be going to an antique market tomorrow, just one.
I'm going camping, but the pup & the boy can only wait in the car/outside for so long together.

Thriftasaurus #100!

Thriftasaurus
::number 100::

Welcome thrifters to the 100th edition of Thriftasaurus! I don't have a special giveaway this time, but I did pick up something last week in Buffalo to include in the giveaway (it's vintage Christmas). Giveaway in the future to coincide with the launch of my Instashop - shopsirthriftalot. I don't know when that will be, the shops there, I just need a little more organization, you know?!

My Buffalo finds are all over the place, so just my thrift finds for the week... which I am pretty psyched about!
Look at all the vintage glasses! Don't you love? There were 2 of the Amish print, but had the gold totally faded off. Someone loved it the way it was since it was gone the next time I was in the store. I am not sure if these are sets of 2... what do you think?  (First 2 pics are same glass), but the king & queen set all the suites are accounted for on 2 glasses. There is a D on the bottom.. who is the maker???

I really don't understand how this vintage tablecloth could last 7 days in the thrift store. It has a few manufacturing flaws, but that aside, the graphics are amazing, I don't think it's ever been used & where else are you going to find one like this? Stained ones with mushrooms don't even last a day or two! Is this for a wedding? Or what would you use it for?

Friendship bowls. Great addition to daily rotation.

This week it felt good to thrift. I didn't notice one dealer in the store, I am sure there was a couple, but none of the ferocious ones. It felt good to walk into a thrift store & find vintage treasures. It felt good to see Pyrex at thrifts I haven't seen Pyrex in in ages (even though I didn't buy it). & it felt good to get a break from the delusional people I have to spend my days with.

& last, but not least, this cute little made in Japan elephant. Love?

Thanks everybody for taking part in Thriftasaurus for the last 100 weeks! Can't believe how much crap I must have brought into the house during that time period, lol.

Thriftasaurus #99

Thriftasaurus #99

Good evening thrifters! Early party this week since I'll be out of the country very, very early tomorrow morning for a fun filled weekend hopefully filled with lots of vintage goodies to bring home!

I hung out at the thrifts enough this week, they weren't plentiful, but I am happy with what I brought home.

This Butterprint butter dish has been wanted by me for a very long time. I had passed one up at an antique market once for $15 (I read something today that said... something like "what haunts us most are the things we didn't buy" - so true) & have seen them only at markets - faded, chipped or priced high. I had convinced myself I could eventually find one cheaper than $15 since Butterprint is common enough. Wasn't looking good as I was witnessing pricing climbing, but looky here! *I will find the Shamrock salad set complete with holder*

Here is what the butter dish looked like at the thrift...

Never used vintage Made In USA Christmas tea towel.

& these very suggestive, lol, patches.

These 2 are my favourite.

Anyways...

On to the party!

Thriftasaurus #98

Thriftasaurus #98!

Good evening, how was your first weekend of August? It's a long weekend here for some/a lot of people, so hopefully everyone is making the most of it. I am working, which is fine, I can deal with time & a half anytime, especially since I have a shopping trip planned in the upcoming weeks to the USA. Need every penny I can get, you know?

I didn't buy much for myself, aside from these Easter tins. The guy was a pretty good salesman, I will tell you. I wasn't sure if I wanted the one, but before I knew it, I was at the ATM & I was buying 2 (he gave me a deal, obviously, which gave me 1 for basically free). Then I was walking to work & I was like, "whoa.. good salesman!" I don't even fall for impulse items at retail stores & get angry when my BF does, can't believe this guy was so slick into talking me into something I wasn't sure if I wanted! I didn't need to go to the ATM because they cost a fortune, I just didn't have any cash. At all. Don't want anyone out there to think I overpaid for something, no, no..

I have this set of bowls NIB, I paid $15 for them (which was from a woman who was just getting rid of them because she had them in her house since her wedding shower). These were about the same price at the thrift, pretty near mint condition except for one minor issue. For trade or sale, if anyone is interested. Will be listing on Kijiji. Spring Blossom Green Mixing bowls, 400-series. 401-403.

The price & condition was right on this Colonial Mist. Hate the pattern, but it's for sale or trade to anyone interested. Will be listing on Kijiji.

I have this vintage sheet, too. I didn't do any research, but I thought the colours were right & it might do well enough. What do you think? I bought for my Intsashop, but might try eBay first.

I have been doing OK on eBay sales. I had 2 sales totaling $110, which cost me $6, free shipping on both. I also bought some sure sellers this week, so will be listing those & expect them to fly.

& this stuff (among other crap!) was in the tins. The seller must have not known these were in here, as they were still priced ($20 altogether). Are they actually arrowheads?

Hope you link up this week! I feel like this is one of those weeks that is going to fly buy, so to the horror of my BF, I hope I can get some shopping squeezed into there.

now it's time to party...

Thriftasaurus #97!

Thriftasaurus #97!

Greetings second hand treasure seekers, how was your weekend? Full of thrift & finds, I hope.

I attended a wedding Saturday night. If you read my blog regularly, you will know that I collect vintage greeting cards & I have thousands of them. I had not one wedding card that doesn't portray a bride & groom, since it was a gay wedding, that wouldn't be fitting. I had some amazingly adorable ones (even doubles, so it wouldn't be that hard using them), but alas, Hallmark store it was. It was difficult there, too. My next wedding is in September. She is a friend of mine & I'll be scouring eBay for some NIB mixing bowls for her! I've already got her a nice, vintage card. Well.. onto my finds!

I had an AMAZING week in thrift store shopping. I can't remember the last time I got a haul that was this fruitful & the last time I brought home a piece of Pyrex that I didn't have (I didn't even know what set the bowl I got to went). It's possibly the thought of opening an Instagram shop has opened my eyes, who knows, but I love it all & I want to keep it all! I have some linens in the main photo, but I couldn't photograph them - I will do it for next week though.
On top of that - I had my most amazing eBay sale ever, bought it for $8, sold it for $670. Surpasses my previous of $7 & selling for $232.50.

Onto my finds..

This stationery set is by Holiday Fair Inc, Japan from 1969. I believe this is a briefcase, a Delicato by Markay. It has some condition issues, but I am pretty sure they can be fixed up. They used some nasty glue! Just couldn't pass it up. Even if the condition sucks, this would look so great on display.

Here's my bowl! A 401 from the reverse primary (thanks Erica!). I left 2 Butterprint behind & they were gone within minutes, a 403 & 402 - some small chips on the rim & some pattern wear when you looked close. I've got so much Butterprint.. wished a dealer hadn't picked it up though.

Bought this cute fabric...

Some cards...

Some vintage unused Halloween cards & a wooden witch(?) or viking? These are usually vikings, aren't they? But this looks like a witch. This is just marked FOREIGN on the bottom. Any info you can tell me on where these are from?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Thanks everybody & dealers for leaving it behind for days. I don't know if it's a candy dish or a planter, but whatever it can be either.

& I bought this elf. I have no idea if it's vintage or not, the tag has been ripped off, but the remnants make it look a little dated. Whether or not it's old, I like it, but I love to know the history of the things that I welcome into my home. You know what I mean?

I made my first Instagram purchase. If I remember correctly, shipping was more than the item itself. Don't you hate it when that happens?

Thanks for stopping by this week!
