Thriftasarus #17!
It's unseasonably warm here in Toronto, about 55°F right now, maybe this unseasonably warm weather will trick people into spring cleaning early & donating! SLOOOOOWW week!
At many of the Value Village stores I have visited recently I have heard & noticed postings about a 50% off sale for Club Members only on Monday, January 14th... incase you didn't know. I'll be staying far away from VV this Monday.
I picked up this 1960 promotional decorator casserole by Pyrex - Meadow from my fav new Pyrex hunting ground this week.
I finally picked up a Jellow mold for 99cents. Next thing to find - a recipe book! My friend had brought one to my Pride party, too fab!
These pink jars, fabulous Value Village pricing. I bought the small one with the intention of cleaning it up & putting pennies inside it as come February, pennies will no longer be in circulation in Canada. I'm going to keep a few for nostalgia value.
69cents for the large one, 99cents for the small one.
My weekly Friday trip won't be happening this upcoming Friday, we have an exterminator coming to our apartment & I have to spent 5 hours in our buildings meeting room with our 2 cats & dog. Quality time.

Oh my! I love those canisters, the jello mold is awesome and the pyrex of course is great! Love all of your finds!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pyrex Junkie!
DeleteI agree, VV is a zoo on sale days and housewares usually are excluded anyway!
ReplyDeleteDo you keep all the pyrex you find? I used to see it all the time, now less and less. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteAs of right now, yes, I keep it all. I have plans to open a booth... sometime. Even the not so desirable patterns seem to sell in the antique markets around here. They're there one visit & gone the next.
DeleteInteresting tidbit about the penny. I wonder if the states will follow suit soon. I like your idea of filling a jar with them.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so weird without the penny. Rounding up & rounding down. Waaay weird.
DeleteOoh, haven't seen that Pyrex pattern before, very nice. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI love the Pyrex promotional! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI have a jello mold just like it and I actually use it all the time. It makes me happy. :) Thanks for sharing all your pretties with us.
ReplyDeleteMom had that Jello mould, I'm sure it's still at the house!
ReplyDeleteLucky find on the promotional!
Hopi things brighten up in the thrifting world, real soon!!
Excuse the typing mistake!!
DeleteYour last two posts haven't showed up on my reading list????
I have no idea why! Hope the next one does. & thanks! Hope to come across a lid for this one..
DeleteLove the Meadow casserole. I found one a while back at an antique mall and I am pretty sure the seller thought it was made of gold. Lots of donating going on here. Maybe you should make a trip to the west coast:-)OMG. You, Sister & I could really stir up some trouble.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Erica
I know I'll win the lottery one day soon, so DEF will! I love trouble.
DeleteEnd of year donation spikes for tax writes offs there? I'm hoping my next trip will be much, much more fruitful.
The unseasonable warmth has drifted down to Florida this week as well, it was 85 F this weekend! It makes me want to get back to hunting, but I'll resist for now. Great haul as always.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I was going to mention your banner is a broken image on my computer, as well as some buttons along the top? Is it that way on yours too? Just thought I'd let you know.
DeleteThanks Van!
Delete& yea, the buttons have been broken for awhile now, I guess. I didn't know that until I viewed it on someone elses computer. My friend was going to work on a new banner... but I guess it never happened, so I never made one... yet. Hope so soon!
60F here in NY, not complaining! I didn't know you guys were doing away with pennies, that's really interesting. I've got a bunch of Canadian pennies left from when I went to school at Sheridan a few years back, didn't know what to do with them but I guess now I'll save them for nostalgia!
ReplyDeleteYou can bring them to the banks when you come here next & I guess some retailers may still accept them, so I hear.
DeleteSheridan next accepted me, lol. Mohawk did though!
The weathers back to normal now. Hoping the weather doesn't get to funky this winter, so it doesn't affect Ontario apples like last year.
You guys are sweating up there and we are freezing down here! What the heck is that about?! I love the promotional! I have one, but it is so dish-washered that the blue color comes off on your finger. So sad!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink jars! The price difference totally goes to show that they are totally all over the place on value these days. Geez thrift shops, get it together!
Totally get it together! Even the cashier gave me a funny look.. I just said, "ya, I know." That sucks about your Meadow, hope you come across another someday or if you wanted to trade for this one, it's in great condition!
DeleteAnother great Pyrex find Sir! The weather here in Ottawa has gotten really warm as well but I hear a deep freeze is on it's way! I stayed away from VVs yesterday but I've gotten to know the manager quite well so he now gives me the senior discount! 20% off...heehee! which includes housewares!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky duck!
DeleteNever knew you were from Ottawa, either! COOL. So many Ontario thrifters with blogs.
I'm going to try my luck later this week. Usually around here on 50% off days, the housewares get cleaned out too, even though they aren't on sale.
That's a great piece of pyrex! Nice find!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been here in a while... I'm digging the new look on the blog! Thank you for hosting the link up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy!
DeleteStill working on it, it's only going to get better. Come back soon. :)
