Vintage Amazingness!

Vintage Amazingness!

This past weekend I took the 2 hour trek to visit one of my oldest friends & his girlfriend in their house in London, Ontario! They fed us corn, chips, Dr. Pepper, sausages & salad & of course, we did some thrifting! We didn't dabble to far into the London thriftiness, can always save that for another time, but did visit both Value Villages that they have & made purchases at both locations... although all those purchases sit in plastic bags on the thrifting dumping ground which is my credenza! I'll present you with one of my favourite purchases from their antique mall.

Moon Deco.
I've drooled over this vintage Pyrex piece for quite some time online, seeing people who pick it up at thrifts for just a couple bucks! Mine was quite a bit more than that, but not nearly as expensive as some priced at BIN on eBay. I'm displaying it with pride with some of my favourite pieces. The seller described it as being from 1940s, lol.

These salt & pepper shakers are classic! At first glance I thought they were the crows from Dumbo, but when I got a good look at them, they were just damn good looking crows

Sir Thrift-A-Lot tidbit: I grew up in Essex, Ontario. At the time a town of 6,600, but has since merged with other location towns increasing the population. Essex has a strange amount of crows, they used to set off canons to scare the crows out of town, but it didn't seem to work as I hear the crows are still thriving (we're talking 100's of crows). According to Wikipedia it's speculated the town was founded adjacent to a massive crow rookery & oddly enough the crows are tightly tied to the bounderies of the town.

More vintage finds to come!
I have a few auctions going on for...
Guinness Bar Towels, Silver Canadian Coins & Vintage Nintendo Greeting Cards:

  2. OK, those are the cutest crows ever!!!
Your "1940's" Pyrex piece is pretty neat too. Sometimes it's just worth it to pay a little bit more so that you can get some sleep at night! Haaa!

    1. My parents were obsessed with moving to Lasalle for years. About once a month for 4 years we'd look at houses, although, we ended up moving all the way to Burlington..
