Vintage Stationery, eBay Auctions

It's funny how sometimes vintage items will be a theme of the week or you'll go a month finding the a similar or the same item, even though it's 30 years old, you have never seen it in a thrift before, but now here it is, spread in 3 different thrift chains across the city. I've had theme thrifting trips: Pyrex, flat sheets (I collect 1970's to early '90s pop culture flat sheets) & stationery. Last month I found a haul of primary fridgies, they were all over the place. I rarely find them anymore. I also found 2 Black Snowflake space savers, sans lids, which I don't have & got an early Christmas present that is similar, but I'll be posting that next week! Anyways, Strawberry Shortcake stationery has been popping up all over & it's what I've currently got up for auction on eBay. I've also go another to list... just misplaced it. Scented stationery, all for sale. This week, too, I've seen this ugly blue gigantic plastic ball thing at 3 thrifts. I've never seen it before in my life & I don't even know what it is.

I bought a stack of vintage cards for $2.99, some absolutely beautiful ones in there. These are 2 of my fav. I'm never going to have a daughter, but I just don't think I can get rid of that card. She's sitting on a sugar bowl, which has cubes of sugar, that have sparkles that look & feel like sugar on them..

I have 100's of vintage cards, maybe over 1000... for others who collect them. What do you do with them? Use them? Hoard them? Collage with them? Sell them? I would like to not hoard, maybe sell, but I would only like to sell if they would sell for $5 - $10, you know? There is a store in Toronto (Ethel, I think) & I believe they sell vintage cards, instore, for $4.

Anyways,
have some fun thrift finds to share on the weekend.
Going to link up with...

Oh yes, if you like the stationery, you can check out my auctions on eBay

  2. I use some of my vintage cards in displays during the holidays. I set them in old planter frogs or I use one of those picture stands with the multiple spots for photos. I can't wait to see the Pyrex. It's what I live for:-)

There is some stuff I'd kill for. Anytime I see anything vintage SSC, I think of you!

  4. I have collected vintage stationary for years. I hoard it. But I also use it, because I'm one of the last few on planet earth who still writes letters. I have been selling some lately too. :(

  6. Stationery and cards are timeless! Until now, I see a lot of people collecting it. I don't know what's with stationery and cards that people still buy these, but it might be the scent, or the artsy drawing on them, that engages collectors to do so. No matter how simple they are, I believe they are valuable just the same as any other vintage collections. -D & M Estate Buyers
