Retro Finds & Thriftosaurus Thrift Haul Link Up

Thriftosaurus Thrift Haul Link Up!

I've been a busy little thrifter this past week, thrifting in the ghetto, thrifting in the rain, even dabbling in the antique markets. I've crossed one item off my checklist & I think I've found one of my favourite items of the year. So many excellent finds this week!

I found these 1950's Herb Gardener glasses at Value Village for $1.49 each. Such excellent condition! I found 2 of each glass. They say, "I'm so smart I make myself sick", "I'm sorry" & "It's about time you found out that I was fascinating."

I've only seen such canisters below once, yellow, in an antique market, just one. I passed. I think before I started collecting them there was a set of turquoise I passed on, too. The salt & pepper shakers are boyfriend approved. They have now become the only set of about 50-60 that we use.

Dolly Parton vinyl featuring one of my favourite Dolly songs - Jolene along with some retro greeting cards that were $2 for the lot - couldn't say no.

Crossed off my thrift want list - a vintage first aid kit for the car, for those long road trips & excellent for next years camping trips. This winters want list includes a tent, tarps & other camping gear. It gives my boyfriend something to look for while I'm browsing the linens & housewares. I believe I might have overpaid for this... oh well.

Of course, there be Pyrex. Some more black snowflake for my collection from the thrift (just the space saver - no lid) & from Value Village, Constellation Promotional Divided Dish, no lid, no handle, no nothing - just the dish.

One of my favourite finds this year! This bowling towel for 49cents. Absolutely gayish & absolutely retro. The guy has the greatest stache & the rainbow is absolutely perfect - 1980 from Master Industries, Inc.

Last week I found these white canisters, this week I found this greenish/turquoise one - Sugar. They also had the flour, but it was so scratched up.. all I could this was WTF happened to it. It was as if someone picked it up & rubbed it up against the pavement. Front & back. I picked up the towel, the canister & black snowflake at a shop I rarely ever buy anything at. I wasn't going to stop in, but the "you never know" entered my head & it was 5 minutes, if that, out of the way.

My thrifting will be minimal this week, just the usual after work trips to Goodwill, everyday is hit & miss, so fingers crossed.

Linkup for Thriftosaurus this week!

    1. S&P's were antique market - never seen that type of stuff (lustre ware is it?) at the thrifts. I've got about 5 or 6 pieces of black snowflake, all from the thrifts.

  3. It is absolutely a Pyrex desert here in Texas and what I see is so expensive! Augh! But I do love those canisters...

    1. I hope it starts pouring soon!

Seems to be getting slower around here. Not even the uglier pieces are out (Old Orchard, Woodland, Forest Fancies)! Just badly damaged bowls.

    2. OMG. I go a week without finding a decent piece of Pyrex... and I'm like "it's horrible out there".

      Sorry! I'll shut my mouth.

  4. I'm in love with that first aid kit. Also those canisters are quite cute. I haven't had a full-on haul in a few weeks. But finding an entire designer outfit at the thrift...well it's a haul of savings! I linked-up so you can check it out. Woo woo to the savings.

    1. lol.
      Sometimes thrifting's dirty.

I think I bought some S&P shakers with stuff still inside & that was over a year ago & have yet to clean them out. I feel filthy. I feel even filthier now that I think about it & don't know where I have put them.

  14. You made out like a bandit last week! I love love love the drinking glasses! And the bowling towel is really cool. I can see some dude in a leisure suit and crazy bowling towels using it 30 years ago. And I bet he had a wicked stache too!
