Wanted Wednesday: Monkey Shines

Wanted Wednesday
Monkey Shines T-Shirt

Monkey Shines is a horror movie released in 1988. It's about it man who becomes a quadriplegic & gets a helper monkey who starts acting out his violent desires. I haven't seen the movie in years, but I was obsessed with it when I was younger. There was a video store near our grocery store where you could rent 5 of the older movies for $5 Monday through Thursday for 5 days. This, along with Howard the Duck & April Fools used to be some of my regulars. The movie poster also embodies one of my all time favourite toys - the Jolly Chimp! I have 3, all complete with boxes.

Anyways, I recently came across this shirt online. If they all weren't nearly $200 & size SMALL, I would buy one. Until then...

it's on etsy.

When I watched this movie as an adult, I couldn't believe how silly it was, either way, I wouldn't be able to pass the shirt up if it came up at the right price & in the right size.

If you've never seen/heard of Monkey Shines, here's the trailer!

  1. I love rediscovering movies that I loved when I was younger, especially when it comes to horror. Fearnet on Comcast has been an excellent provider for just that reason. The other day I caught the movie "Body Parts" on there. Dude loses an arm in a horrific crash, gets a new one grafted on him that refuses to cooperate. Terror ensues. It wasn't nearly as terrifying as I remembered it being last I saw it 15 years ago. Ha ha.

I'l keep my eyes peeled for a Monkey Shines shirt for you.

    1. Never heard of Body Parts, but always looking for something new to watch (we don't have too many TV channels). My step sister & I thought The Willies was such a scary movie when we were little... of course, when I was grown up, it was laughable! & I thought The Crush was the wildest movie I had ever seen (with Alicia Silverstone), grown up? not so much..

      & thanks Jackie!
